Top Shelf’s 10th Anniversary $3 Sale

We just received word from the folks at Top Shelf. They’ve gone berserk again and are slashing prices to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. Check out the skinnee here:

To celebrate Top Shelf’s 10th Anniversary in publishing, and also to announce (and prepare for) our 2007-2008 publishing line, for the next ten days — from Monday April 9th thru Wednesday April 18th — Top Shelf is having its biggest web sale ever. When you visit the site, you’ll find over 125 graphic novels and comics on sale, with fifty titles marked down to just $3 (!), twenty-five titles marked down to just $1 (!), and a slew of other key titles just slashed! All we ask is that you hit a $30 minimum on sale and/or non-sale items (before shipping). It’s a great opportunity to load up on all those graphic novels you’ve wanted to try, but just never got around to picking up. Get ’em while supplies last!

So check out the 2007 and 2008 scheduled titles while you’re there. New Brian Wood, Alan Moore, Alex Robinson and Craig Thompson coming down the pike, among others. Nice.

Our recommendations for sale purchases after the jump.

So if you’ve been waiting till you could get a deal on some Top Shelf, act now. It’s all good, but here’s some things to consider if your brain boggles at the massive amounts of stuff:

On the $3 list:

On the $1 list: go check out the #1 issue of the Chazzie-award winning Surrogates. They have the trade for sale, too.

On the Alan Moore list:

  • From Hell in soft and hardcover – my favorite graphic novel of all time
  • Voice of the FireChazzie award winner
  • Either of the two music CDs – they’re brilliant

Also, anything on there by…

  • Andy Runton (if you have kids or need books for kids)
  • Craig Thompson’s Blankets (Chazzie-award winner and a full-on 5 cup review…and you know us, we don’t give those lightly)
  • The aforementioned Alex Robinson and his other books
  • The incredibly odd and wonderful (and Chazzie-nominated) The Ticking

There you go. Now go nuts.
