Lord Buckley vs. Beany and Cecil: Dig This Crazy Test Pattern

Lord Buckley

Saturday Morning Blog points out that this Bob Clampett-directed episode of Beany and Cecil stars Lord Buckley as the voice of the Wildman of Wildsville.

I first ran into Lord Buckley when I heard the audio of his beatnikized version of “Friends, Romans, countrymen.” It reminded me a lot of another version of Julius Caesar – the one performed by The Down Home Players, as envisioned by the comedic madman Brother Dave Gardner. I really need to lay hands upon some more of Buckley’s stuff.

Speaking of more, there’s a classic TV appearance of his after the break.
