Peter Sellers Has Been Working Like a Dog

Posted on 12.28.07 by Widge @ 11:37 am

1965 saw the show The Music of Lennon & McCartney. It was a tribute to The Beatles starring The Beatles, with a focus on how many people had covered their stuff and in how many languages it had been performed. One of the performers on the show was Peter Sellers. Here are some outtakes from his performance of "A Hard Day's Night (Richard III Remix)":

Incidentally, if you haven't heard all of the Beatles covers Sellers did, you can sample them at PeterSellers.org. And if you don't own them on CD, this collection is a good primer but somehow I didn't see this one before--four discs including all the Beatles covers. Damn. That's nice.

For the actual final version of the Sellers performance from that show plus some of the Beatles stuff from it as well, head below the break.

I really love the way The Beatles deliver their lines. Their comic timing is really terrifying, it's so good.

Thanks to Ken for the headsup.
