As one of the five people on the planet who really didn’t “get” Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly’s version of The Last Temptation of Christ featuring a demonic bunny and a jet engine, I was intrigued to see Southland Tales coming out. After all, I’m looking forward to Dwayne Johnson getting a decent film for once and the varied cast of actors also involved in this gives one pause. And hope. But is it warranted?
