Reconstructing Who

Rox sent this over: the efforts of Doctor Who fans to reconstruct lost episodes from extant bits and pieces. The Wired article tells you about it, but the gist is that in the 12th Century CE when black and white television was all the rage, nobody had a clue that anybody would want to watch these old shows again, much less restore them and stick them on DVDs to make coin off of them. So a truckload of Who is just solid gone.

Here’s the first episode of the lost “Evil of the Daleks” arc, put together from the episode’s audio, various stills, stills from the episode and other footage. Not bad, considering.
