Stuff: Tokyo vs. Zombies, The Bennets vs. Predator

Pride and Predator

Sorry we’ve been away. You’ll see why shortly. Busy stuff. Now we play catchup.

  • Well, we told you about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies at the beginning of December and the rest of the net appears to be in catchup mode. I say that because not a day goes by where somebody doesn’t send the Chronicle Books entry to me. One day, my site will be cool enough for people to actually read it. Anyway, io9 does report, however, that it’s already got a bidding war going and the damn thing’s not even published yet. And what’s more now there’s Pride and Predator? When it rains, it pours, I guess.
  • Here’s the trailer for Tokyo Zombie. It looks completely and utterly mental. I think Siege, Doc and myself will be there when it finally opens stateside.

It’s one of those where you almost don’t want it to be subtitled, you know?

  • Amazon has the new Kindle 2 for pre-order. You can snag yours here. Also, speaking of stuff available for pre-order: Dexter: Season 3 is now available for pre-order at $27.99 here.
  • One of my favorite topics is Hollywood That Wasn’t. Check out these unused bits of art from Alien 3. Found via Boing Boing.
  • Ed O’Neill has joined the new comedy from ABC, An American Family. “The single-camera project…revolves around three families: a traditional one; another that includes a 60-year-old man (O’Neill) who becomes a stepfather after marrying a Latina who is 30 years his junior; and the third, a gay couple who have adopted a Vietnamese baby.” Sounds like it has all the potential it needs to be brilliant and last five episodes. • Lynda Carter has a new jazz CD coming out. Yes, that Lynda Carter. Jesus, she still looks fantastic. The album, At Last, comes out in the spring. No pre-order information yet. She’s going to be performing at the Lincoln Center in March. Nice. Source.
  • Everyone’s favorite comedian/Antichrist, Frankie Boyle, appears in GTA IV: The Lost And The Damned as himself. He was mo-capped so you’re seeing Frankie’s movements. Nothing like bringing together controversy to stir up sales, right? Here’s what I mean. Content advisory: Frankie Boyle ahead.

  • The Rum Diary has almost gained Aaron Eckhart and definitely Richard Jenkins (The Visitor). Production starts March 30th in Puerto Rico. Source.
