Music Monday: Muse, U2, Meryn Cadell and Andrew Jackson Jihad

Meryn Cadell: Angel Food for Thought
Andrew Jackson Jihad: People

Some more picks from Rob Levy for your Music Monday enjoyment. If you like what you hear, buy the selections from Amazon through us. We get kickbacks and it helps pay for stuff like anti-zombie armor. And pie.

First up, U2 couldn’t make Glastonbury this year…so they sent The Edge to sit in with Muse on “Where the Streets Have No Name.” We found this on Slicing Up Eyeballs, where they state that Muse kicked the song up a notch. I dunno, maybe I’m just getting too old for this, but I remember when notches were more…notch-like. If you know what I mean. Either way, it’s a decent cover.

The re-issue of Meryn Cadell’s Angel Food for Thought was re-issued a few years back and the re-issue apparently has the video below on it. And the video below is…sort of like a 90s female version of Uncle Bill’s “Words of Advice For Young People.” Which sort of makes no sense as that came out in 1993. Either way.

Angel Food is available from Amazon in CD form or MP3. MP3’s cheaper. Just saying. (Granted, you miss the music video. But you can always come back here and watch it. Also just saying.)

And last but not least, Rob recommended this on a previous podcast and I…love it. Just bought the album and recommend you do the same. It’s Andrew Jackson Jihad and “People II: The Reckoning” from the album People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World. Can’t stop listening.

People is available from Amazon on CD or MP3 download. Again, MP3’s cheaper.

  • The youtube clip doesn’t do the Muse thing justice, plus there was a build up to it due to the concert being so good up to that point too.

  • Dan: That’s certainly as maybe. Don’t get me wrong–I dig Muse. And they cover the living shit out of “Feeling Good,” so there is precedent for them rocking a song. I was just expecting something more…Muse-like, I guess. :-) I’m looking forward to seeing the whole set.
