First up we have “Bright Lit Blue Skies” from Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, from the album Before Today. Rob describes this as “Weird psychedelics meet indie rock freakout.”

I say the people who directed this music video were on some “Weird psychedelics,” as it seems to me to be like Benny Hill directed the movie Flirting. The album is available from Amazon either as a CD or an MP3 download. Click on your medium of choice to snag it.

Next is my pick: Jeremy Messersmith with a live rendition of his “Organ Donor,” from the album The Reluctant Graveyard.

At times I wonder if somebody tried to splice together the genes of Buddy Holly and Andrew Bird, honestly. Reluctant Graveyard is available from Amazon as an MP3 download.

I find that video phenomenally creepy. Is it just these guys that the band wants to leave dead on a park bench or hurled onto some metal spikes? Or is it all men?
