32 Days of Halloween IV, Movie Night No. 4: The Ghoul

Boris Karloff: The Ghoul

So our tradition of Movie Night #4 is in the black and white classics. We started Year One with Tod Browning’s classic, Freaks. Tod Browning led us to the recreated version of London After Midnight in a double feature with Dark Eyes of London. That was with Lugosi, which brought us to The Body Snatcher with him and Karloff.

Where does that leave us? With Karloff in the 1933 flick, The Ghoul. Also in the film are Cedric Hardwicke (the 1939 Hunchback), Ernest Thesiger (Bride of Frankenstein), and this marks the screen debut of Sir Ralph Richardson (Time Bandits).

The film is a crime horror thriller involving theft, resurrection, Egyptian gods, you know…the usual. Good stuff.
