Yet again, I absolutely agree with your video review! I don’t want to repeat what widge already succinctly described, but I do want to clarify for ballet dancers: remember this isn’t about ballet. I have so many ballerina friends who were offended by this film. It’s NOT about ballet. Ballet is just the medium they did this in. I could easily see this done in any other sport/art. The whole point of this is a psychological deconstruction of the individual, so please all dancers of the world put your bias away and see this film! Besides, expecting portman to execute ballet techniques in perfection when she only had ONE year to train is absurd. Most dancers spend their lives since they were young girls perfecting their art. Portman nailed the acting, that’s all that matters. So I superfluously repeat: IT’S NOT ABOUT BALLET!
