Music Monday: Blue Valentine, Yuna & This Mortal Coil

By Widge - posted 02.07.11 @ 11:57 pm

More music picks for your Monday curated by Rob & myself. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music.

Blue Valentine: Grizzly Bear
Yuna: Decorate
This Mortal Coil: It'll End in Tears

Rob calls Blue Valentine the "feel good movie of the year." Which is saying something. Saying a warning? Possibly. Regardless, Grizzly Bear scored the film, which contains a version of this song: "I Live With You."

The soundtrack hits February 22nd. It's available for pre-order from Amazon as a CD.

Next, I'm sneaking a pick of my own in here: it's "Decorate" by Yuna.

It's from the EP of the same name which is due out March 15th. No pre-order link yet. Although her official site says that it's available at 7-11s in Malaysia. So grab it and a Big Gulp.

And we go back to Rob for this final pick: "Song to the Siren" by This Mortal Coil. Because we couldn't end on a positive note. Listening to this and then following with Tom Waits and alcohol is not a good idea. Just a warning.

For some reason the CD is no longer in print, but it's cheaper to get It'll End in Tears on MP3 anyway.
