Music Monday: Airborne Toxic Event, Wombats, Grandaddy and More…

More music picks for your Monday curated by Rob & myself. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music.

Wombats: This Modern Glitch
Grandaddy: Sophtware Slump
True Grit Soundtrack

[ad#shortpost]First up, it’s The Airborne Toxic Event with “All I Ever Wanted,” and if somebody could tell me if this is off the new album or what, that would be great, because I can’t figure out where the hell it’s from.

I’m a sucker for strings, what can I say? In the meantime, here’s where you can find stuff by the group on Amazon. And their new album, All at Once, hits April 26th. You can pre-order it here.

Next, here’s The Wombats with “Anti-D,” the latest single from their upcoming album This Modern Glitch.

The album hits April 26th and is available for pre-order from Amazon.

Also, our own Aaron Poole directed this video for the band Cruachan. This is their song “I Am Warrior.” The band isn’t to my personal taste, but I figure the universe had to do something to restore the balance after the success of Celtic Woman. So more power to them, because we do need that. And hey, the video looks great. So.

I assume this is off their upcoming album and there’s no pre-order link at the moment. For more of their stuff, you can find it on Amazon. For more of Aaron’s video mayhem, please check out his YouTube channel.

Rob puts forward the excellent band Grandaddy and their album The Sophtware Slump. Here’s the video for “The Crystal Lake.”

Grandaddy is no more, mostly because I discovered them and I do that to bands. The album is available from Amazon as both a CD and an MP3 download.

Rob also throws at you, and rightly so–I second it, the soundtrack to True Grit. Here’s “The Wicked Flee,” the opening track from the soundtrack. This is by Carter Burwell, and is a fantastic score. Screw you, Academy.

It’s available from Amazon as both a CD and an MP3 download. The latter option is only $5.99 as I type this, so that’s hard to beat.

And lastly, a soundtrack that should make you happy: it’s The Chemical Brothers and the upcoming score for Hanna. Here’s the track “Container Park”:

That’s hitting iTunes on March 15th.
