More music picks for your Monday. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music.

Thousands of One
Viva Brother: Fly By Nights
Japanese Popstars: Controlling Your Allegiance

[ad#shortpost]
We kick off with Thousands of One and “Heaven.” And the sound’s actually quite good on the vid, although the band gets huge points for playing in what looks like miserable, craptastic weather.

That’s from their self-titled album and can be snagged as an MP3 from Amazon for just $6.99.

It’s Viva Brother, with a live performance of “High Street Low Lives” in London. Apparently, there’s been hubbub about the fact that they haven’t blown up huge and because they’re Britpop and apparently nobody wants that anymore. I dunno, I find this eminently listenable.

That’s available from an EP called Fly by Nights. The full album comes out later in the year.

Here’s The Japanese Popstars featuring Jon Spencer and “Destroy.” The video’s like a graffiti-infused J-horror movie or something.

That’s from their new album Controlling Your Allegiance, which is available on CD from Amazon for just $9 or just a wee bit cheaper as an MP3.

Leaves: Angela Test
David and the Citizens: Until the Sadness is Gone
Lefties Soul Connection: Skimming the Skum

A track now from 2005 and the Icelandic band Leaves. This is “The Spell.”

Oddly, the album Angela Test is an import only and not available via MP3. Strange. But you can get it used for about $12 here regardless.

A track from 2006 and David and the Citizens…I’m a sucker for horns. This is known. This is also “Graycoated Morning.”

The album is Until the Sadness is Gone and it’s available as an MP3 from Amazon at almost half the price of an actual CD. So.

The track is “Paul Newman,” by the Dutch band Lefties Soul Connection. This is…sweet.

That’s from their 2007 album Skimming the Skum, which is available as an MP3.
