32 Days of Halloween V, Movie Night No. 20: Blacula!

That’s right…as part of Blaxploitation Day of 32 Days of Halloween, it’s time to go to the #1 hit of the blaxploitation horror subgenre: Blacula. Of course, on the surface, it looks like it’s going to be 70stastic nonsense. But if there’s anything that manages to elevate such a relatively goofy premise, it’s William Freaking Marshall. His screen presence is amazing. His voice is incredible. If there is anybody who can pull off the title role, it’s him. Enjoy.

And just because it amuses me to think that the people who brought you “Rock the Boat,” The Hues Corporation, also provided songs for the soundtrack of this film, here’s “I’m Gonna Catch You.”
