Music Monday: Band of Skulls, Fishbone, Y Niwl & More…

More music picks for your Monday. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music. Just note: any prices we quote are accurate as of when this post goes up.

Band of Skulls: The Devil Takes Care of His Own
Fishbone: Crazy Glue

[ad#shortpost]
We lead off with a live rendition of the new single from Band of Skulls. Granted, the lyrics are a bit hard to understand in this version–but it’s just so gloriously goddamn chunky, I can’t resist it.

This is from their upcoming album Sweet Sour, which doesn’t hit until February. And the single isn’t available stateside yet. So stay tuned.

So yes, it’s not news that there’s new Fishbone in the world. The EP, Crazy Glue, is available and is rather tasty. What is news, courtesy of The Hanging Brain, is that there’s a music video for the title track. And you know how I am about Fishbone. So. Here we go.

That’s available from Amazon as both a CD and MP3.

Y Niwl: Undegsaith Undegchwech
Ancestors: Invisible White

Next we have a live surf track from Y Niwl, a band from North Wales. This is short, sweet and fantastic. It’s “Undegsaith.”

Sadly, that’s part of a single that’s limited–and currently not for sale in the U.S. But their last full-length album–their self-titled one–is available from Amazon. So I’m sure it’ll be here in some fashion soon enough.

Here’s a lovely piece entitled “Invisible White” from Ancestors. It’s the title track from their new EP.

The song itself is available from free as an MP3 download from Amazon. There’s an MP3 download of the whole EP, but it’s pointless as one of the three songs–a fourteen minute song–is only available on the CD.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones: The Magic of Youth
Brand New: Your Favorite Weapon

Also, new Bosstones? Don’t mind if we do, actually. This is their new album The Magic of Youth. And how can I resist a song with horns called “Like a Shotgun”?

That’s available as both a CD and MP3 download from Amazon–and the MP3’s only $4.99 for the whole album. So c’mon.

Your Favorite Weapon, the 2001 album by Brand New is being reissued in a 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition that has seven additional demo tracks on it. As a result, we give you the lead track from the album proper, “The Shower Scene.” Again. Loud. Brash. Short. Sweet. Dig it.

That’s available from Amazon as both an MP3 download and an old school CD. “Old school CD.” Just shoot me, please.
