Alcohol Quest #7: The Beerventure: In Search of the Red Robin Sam Adams Octoberfest Milkshake

Red Robin Samuel Adams Octoberfest Beer Milkshake

Fall brings lots of awesome things. Cooler weather, which is crucial to the survival of someone who wears nothing but black. Halloween, which is just unadulterated awesome on many levels. And excellent seasonal beer. One of the best ones--that's a damn good bargain, to be sure--is the Samuel Adams Octoberfest. I am happy to see it come round every year and I know several people who share this sentiment.

And let me say this about beer. When I had to stop drinking because of my health scare, there wasn't much in the way of beer excitement to be had. The most exotic beer around was a Killian's Red. Maybe a Corona with lime if you were feeling crazy. Now there's beer everywhere you turn--all kinds, from all over the world. And now...people put it into milkshakes.

That's right. Red Robin, the burger restaurant chain, has created an Octoberfest promo. In addition to their Octoberfest burger with its beery cheese and mustard and their Octoberfest pretzel bits with even more beery cheese and mustard, they made the Sam Adams Octoberfest Milkshake. The closest one to where I live is thirty-five minutes away one-way. I needed backup. Enter Big Dub and our Beerventure, which we share with you thus:
