The Fly (1958)

Oh hell yes. We've reached Vincent Price Night here in the 32 Days of Halloween parade of mayhem. It's the original The Fly from 1958. And yes, the Cronenberg remake is quality but this original has its own original unstable mental state. If you haven't seen it, you owe it to yourself to experience it. It's fantastic and possesses one of the most famous endings of 50s sci-fi horror.

And another great tagline from posters: "The monster created by atoms gone wild!" Atoms Gone Wild. It's okay to admit you too are thinking "What if Niels Bohr took a video crew to Mardi gras?" It's Okay.

The film is available as part of The Fly Collection on DVD from Fox. Collection? Oh yes, of course there were two sequels. I know you're not surprised.

Previous Vincent Price Nights have featured The Pit and the Pendulum, The Tingler, Shock, The Last Man on Earth, and the original House on Haunted Hill.
