This is one of the first times I’ve disagreed with you about a film. The visuals were gorgeous, yeah, yeah, but I really couldn’t bring myself to care about Bullock or the rest of the characters. And while they do a good job of “Hollywood realism” in space, my day job in aerospace made me call BS on a couple of occasions. Visually impressive, but it didn’t make an emotional impression on me. I don’t think I need to see it again, and that’s my problem with it. Three cans of Diet Dr. Pepper from me.

    Glad you enjoyed it, though.

  • Sorry you didn’t dig it. As for me, on the topic of “Hollywood Realism”–when it’s a huge thing to actually see explosions happen without sound in space–when No Sound is a basic principle of, you know, Being In Space–then other stretches are (again, just for me), easier to forgive. As for not needing to see films again–that’s actually a good thing, ticket prices being what they are. :-)

  • I agree. Fantastic film. Loved Sandra Bullock. I think she walked a tight rope in the best way possible. She gave some heart to a tech film, but not so much to distract from that film.
    Perfect.
