Word-A-Week Vocabulary Vlog #51: Fard

Aaron Poole's Word-a-Week!

You thought Word-a-Week was gone for good. But since everything is trying to emulate Marvel these days, resurrection can come pretty easy. Or at least reasonably priced. Wordmonger Aaron Fever is back for a third series of one my favorite things ever. So once more: accept no substitutes! This word is one you can use! In conversation! You can even use it on Twitter and Facebook! And the best part is: this word is free for you to use and share! It is guaranteed DRM-free.

Also, this happened because you and people like you supported his Patreon. Do it. It will make you feel all tingly. More of Aaron’s shenanigans can be found at aaronfever.com.

Fear Solve This #2

Seal vs. Tippi Hedren

Since Fear The Walking Dead started back up this past weekend, it only makes sense to touch bases with the European spinoff of everyone’s favorite problem solving panel show. That’s right, Aaron Fever returns with Fear Solve This.

In the captain’s chair is Aaron and he welcomes guests Kevin Handy, Neil O’Rourke, Jessica Keith and Jay Petrone. Collectively they do battle with problems large, small and mildly silly ranging from cold (or not) weather to hot yoga. Also, advice on where to hide your nuclear codes.

You can download it directly here.

Fear Solve This: The Pilot Episode

Predator vs. Microwave

While Solve This is on its prolonged hiatus, our very own Aaron Fever decided to take it across the pond and create a European spinoff. It is called–what else–Fear Solve This.

This time around it’s Aaron in the chair and he welcomes his guests Jason Coburn, Brian Fitzpatrick, Tom Hughes and Maria Power for a round in the never-ending battle against problems. Enjoy.

Make the Bad Men Stop: DragonCon 2013

Sad Kitten

If you think humans reacted poorly to the Catwoman movie, think about how actual felines felt...

For your dancing and dining pleasure…if you’ve never been to the madness that is a Make the Bad Men Stop panel at DragonCon, then this video will be like you were actually there. Word-A-Week Vocabulary Vlog #50: Agraffe

Aaron Poole's Word-a-Week!

Word-a-Week is dead. Long live Word-a-Week. Wordmeister Aaron Poole did it his way and he sends this feature off into the sunset in style. Granted, as you will see, he spent an entire month of Need Coffee video podcasting budget on this episode, so we’ll need to talk to him about that. But regardless. For the final time: accept no substitutes! This word is one you can use! In conversation! You can even use it on Twitter and Facebook! And the best part is: this word is free for you to use and share! It is guaranteed DRM-free.

We hope you will join Aaron on his blog at aaronfever.com for additional doses of his legendary shenanigans.

Word-A-Week Vocabulary Vlog #49: Penultimate

Aaron Poole's Word-a-Week!

As Word-a-Week draws to a close, the hope is that the vocabulary receptacles in your mind have been stretched sufficiently to allow you to replenish your hopefully whetted appetite for new words…and to do this on your own. But if that’s not the case, start doing it now and avoid the rush. Seek out rarely used words. Search for arcane bits of language. Impress the few friends you have who care about such things. This is your second to last chance to…accept no substitutes! This word is one you can use! In conversation! You can even use it on Twitter and Facebook! And the best part is: this word is free for you to use and share! It is guaranteed DRM-free.

We hope you will join Aaron as he gnaws the tasty snack of knowledge, using the stomach acid of language to avoid the indigestion of ignorance.

Word-A-Week Vocabulary Vlog #48: Apposite

Aaron Poole's Word-a-Week!

The reason that wordsmiths like Aaron Poole can freestyle and not come off sounding like a maroon is because they have a good verbal foundation to work from. You have to learn the basics before you can start form improvised sentences at the drop of a hat. And this can come in handy when you’re trying to land a job, find a mate, or convince those armadillos not to carjack you. We don’t want to overemphasize the importance of the work Aaron is doing here, but it could, quite frankly, save your life. The press is eager to report words that kill, but never how many times words have been used to ward off danger. Don’t become a statistic, in other words. To avoid this: accept no substitutes! This word is one you can use! In conversation! You can even use it on Twitter and Facebook! And the best part is: this word is free for you to use and share! It is guaranteed DRM-free.

We hope you will join Aaron as he remixes the terrible pop song of ignorance into the dance-able, listenable hit of knowledge…using the probably-designed-to-run-on-a-Mac software that is Language.

Word-A-Week Vocabulary Vlog #47: Opulent

Aaron Poole's Word-a-Week!

Gene Wilder had a series–briefly–called Something Wilder. One of the most important quotes you will ever hear resulted from this show: “The problem with bad taste is that you can’t explain it to someone who has it.” So that’s why having bad taste in word choice must be self-diagnosed. Not even Wordmeister Aaron Poole can do that for you. What he can do–and continues to do–is draw your attention to words that you can use…and he does this by any means necessary. So look deep within yourself and expand your arsenal of verbiage. Accept no substitutes! This word is one you can use! In conversation! You can even use it on Twitter and Facebook! And the best part is: this word is free for you to use and share! It is guaranteed DRM-free.

We hope you will join Aaron as he teaches the capuchin monkey of ignorance how to gain the grapes of knowledge…using the experimental monkey coinage that is Language.
