700 Bands: And We're Spent.

700 Bands

The madness comes to an end. Since we want to close the chapter as we waltz into 2010, here's the last of them. For more information, go here.

661. Ginger Tardis.
Taken from io9. A Doctor Who Xmas band is way too obvious, but still appealing nonetheless.

662. Infinite Gladwell.
Inspired by Apelad.

663. Crazy Internet Famous

664. The Viking Funeral of Charlie Brown.

665. The Cultists Who Nap.
Blame Tuffley. It does sound like an odd murder mystery title, doesn't it?

700 Bands: 651 - 660

700 Bands

The madness continues. Now that obstacles have been removed, we're on our way. Going to make 700. For more information, go here.

651. Kodiak Fudd.
I'd really like this to be an all-Looney Tunes bluegrass cover band.

652. Throwing Ophelia Onto the Fridge.
From Tee. Who didn't explain himself and we honestly feel good that he didn't.

653. Comrade Stromboli
I know we're heavy on the cover bands, but it just begs for it: Disney tunes covered like this.

641. Methodist in Her Madness.
All Canadian cover band. If you don't know, don't ask.

642. Pickman's Industrial Art Collective.
It's like The Polyphonic Spree. But eeeeeevil. From @unknownbinaries.

643. Badly Burned Bunny Bites
Again, from Siege. It's best not to ask.

631. Collective Tractor.
Suggested by Bailey. I would really like this band to be Fishbone if there were an all-Soviet era song cover band.

632. Peanut Butter Suzie.
I have no idea. Ask ScottC. Actually, you know what? It's safer not to ask ScottC.

633. Punting Yoda
Siege suggested this one. And knowing him, he's actually done this.

621. Mormon Zombie Llamas.
From the enigmatic but inevitable Trelvix.

622. Your Inner Zod.
From our own Pope Hieronymous.

623. The Password Is...
It can be anything but the most blatantly obvious, i.e. Reel Big Fish if sponsored solely by the Game Show Network. As long as you're not doing that, you're aces.

700 Bands: 611 - 620

700 Bands

The madness continues. For more information, go here.

611. Omnipotent Porksword.
Based on the twitterings of Uncle Warren and the meanderings of penis-enhancing spam.

612. Hope Abattoir.
From a recent episode of Charlie Brooker's You Have Been Watching. I imagine a goth poetry version of The Monster Engine except instead of translating little kids' monster art into fully realized art, it's taking the depressed meandering poetry of adolescents and turning them into full-blown spoken word/Goth music performance pieces. Seriously. Hope Abattoir is the name of both the band and lead singer.

613. God's Banana.
I'm just thinking all your favorite religious songs as interpreted by The Polyphonic Spree if it had been founded by Frank Zappa. Reminded of this by Ben Templesmith.

614. Ianto Jihad.

615. Vance and the Viking Tacos.
From Steven G. Saunders.

616. Big Audio Violence.

617. Nabisco Brainserver.
From the Madman himself.

618. Plagued by Outdoors.

619. Deadly Cartoon Universe.
From our friend and yours, Prof. Gibson. I envision this as bits of Hanna-Barbera music performed by a heavy band with a lot of horns, like classic The Urge.

620. Poison Agnes.

New band names up for grabs now until we get done. Because it's time to be done already.

601. Random Vanilla Boobs.
I have no idea. Ask Dom.

602. International House of Drunkcakes.
From the mind of Miss Destructo.

603. The Kangaroo Wing Dings.
No, seriously.

604. Call the Plumber, My Shower is Evil.

605. Hello Kitty Dress-up Wolves.
Brilliant from Rikki Simons.

606. Aleister Crowley's Chiropractor (and Friends).
A.C.C. is one guy and the roster of his backing musicians changes with each album. Imagine Peeping Tom if it was fronted by Weird Al instead of Mike Patton.

607. Are You Awake at the Wheel?
Taken from here.

608. This is the War Room.

609. The God-like Walrus Quartet.
I'm not sure, but imagine Frank Zappa covering the works of Paul Winter.

610. Reaper's Dozen.
Again, uncertain, but I just imagine a bluegrass Blue Oyster Cult cover band.

New band names up for grabs each Tuesday and Thursday. When we're not...doing something else. Until we hit 700.

571. The Sons of Splenda.
Via Jon of The Unique Geek (@jonboutelle).

572. Casually Askance.
Via HTQ4 (@htq4).

573. The Wanting Nihilists.

574. Kangaroo Ball Love.
Blame Cabin Fever.

575. The Fuckugly Stepsisters.
Via Dom. A punk band, all-male who dress in terrible drag and play brain-thudding songs about fairy tales from the perspectives of the "villains" of the stories.

576. Right Click to Tab.
From The Hanging Brain.

577. Amos Friendly and his Amazing Prehensile Ear Lobes.

578. IOL (Instant On Lighting).
Taken from one of the few good moments from the Arthur sequel that didn't actually happen. The band is basically ELO but on a terribly tight budget.

579. Childhood May Contain Mullets.
From @missdestructo here.

580. The Secret Name of My Pancreas.

New band names up for grabs each Tuesday and Thursday. When we're not...doing something else. Until we hit 700.
