This transition was necessary following an attempt to drill out a new chamber which resulted in the accidental tapping of an underground natural custard reservoir. Now that these fun and games are complete, Needcoffee.com should later today resume its abnormal publishing schedule. Categorized as: Admin

If not, you won't, so as you were. rel="nofollow" should be killed on all Needcoffee outgoing links. If you'd like to know more about how I came to this revelation and why we had the tags in place in the first place, go here. Categorized as: Admin

Add your own. ![]() Okay, so you might notice upon your arrival, if you were using the http://www.needcoffee.com/updates... directory structure, that you wound up at http://www.needcoffee.com... instead. At least I hope to Christ, Buddha and the ghost of George Harrison that you did. This is all to implement a new Wordpress plugin that will hopefully cut our server gyrations in half. Hopefully. If you see anything weird going on, ping me, but all the archival stuff pre-Wordpress that hasn't been moved is still there, all the posts should still be here--everything appears to be working. Knock on formica. All I can say is that it looks like I picked the wrong week to quit snorting Pixy Stix. Categorized as: Admin

If that sort of thing bores you to tears, then read this top part and go on about your business. 1. The site's 500 errors should lessen, I hope, because our caching was simply not working. It appears to now be working. 2. The feed went wonky. A plug-in broke it and now it's unbroke. Feed should be back to normal. There you go. You've been warned. Categorized as: Admin

Comments on this: none yet. Add your own. ![]() Yes, I'm afraid so. As we've told you before, we're apparently the target of a crapload of spambots. And running Bad Behavior, Spam Karma 2, and Akismet on our Wordpress install will keep the majority of spam comments from ever seeing the light of day...but they try to get in so often that the server just coughs up a lung. As I might have mentioned before, during the last onslaught they were hitting us twelve times a second. The only way to keep the site from seizing up is to just turn the comments off. Which pisses me off, because I enjoy people thinking that we're a way to get in touch with Dog the Bounty Hunter or Criss Angel. I enjoy people who post comments to the wrong site because they are utterly devoid of clue. But the fact is if we wanted to turn it back on we'd have to move to a hosting solution that's more robust than the one we have. And frankly, we don't make enough money off the site to pay for gas, much less pay hundreds of dollars a month just so we can withstand the spam bastard Visigoths at the front gate. If we somehow manage to start slinging some coin out of this gig, trust me, we'll get them back on. But until then, they're off and I'm not going to worry about them anymore. There's other things I want to do, apart from our new Press Release Section and revamping all the DreamCasts. So if you need to comment on things, join up on the Gabfest or you can reach me specifically at widgesucks at needcoffee dot com. Categorized as: Admin
