04.28.08 by Widge @ 5:06 am Dave Thomas of SCTV glory sent to Quick Stop Entertainment a trailer for the upcoming Bob & Doug McKenzie animated series which hits next year. This was shown at New York Comic-Con in-between scheduling clusterfucks. I just want the return of Brewmeister Smith. Just for one episode. Please? Categorized as: Animation

04.23.08 by Widge @ 7:02 pm Found yourself depressed because you didn't get to see the Venture Bros. Season 3 teaser trailer that Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick detonated in the middle of New York Comic-Con? Pining because you weren't part of the masses that were so unanticipated that they broke the Comic-Con schedule like a twig? Jonesing because you didn't get the chance to be impaled with a Dum-Dum thrown by the deadly hands of Ken Plume? Your prayers and burnt offerings have been answered. Quick Stop Entertainment has posted the teaser. You will not be disappointed. Update: It's now embeddable. God bless those pagans. Categorized as: Animation

04.09.08 by Widge @ 9:15 pm Cartoon Brew has posted test footage from a planned Isao Takahata/Hayao Miyazaki American/Japanese joint production of Winsor McCay's Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland that sadly never happened. They also tell us George Lucas, Chuck Jones, Gary Kurtz, Ray Bradbury, Chris Columbus, Moebius, John Canemaker, Leo Salkin, Paul Julian, Ken Anderson and Frank Thomas were attached to this film at one time or another. Bill Hurtz (George of the Jungle, Unicorn In The Garden) and Masami Hata (Sea Prince and the Fire Child) ultimately directed the final release, admittedly a mixed bag.
Here's the vid. Damn shame. This would have been amazing. More after the break. Categorized as: Animation

04.08.08 by Widge @ 8:02 pm ![]() Disney has announced the ten animated feature films that make up their new release schedule through 2012. Plus some Tinker Bell direct to video bits. And you really don't want the hoobah of the press release talking about how great it is and ooh aren't we lovely. No, let's cut straight to the list. Oh, wait. You do want to know this bit, though: Starting later this year with the release of Disney's "Bolt," all Disney and Pixar animated features will be presented in state-of-the-art Disney Digital 3-D(TM). Additionally, newly converted 3-D versions of the beloved classics, "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2," are set to debut in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Films are not presently scheduled past 2012 due to the impending singularity, or as John Hodgman would call it: Ragnarok. That last part we had mentioned previously. And I'll go ahead and tell you: Incredibles 2 is not on the list. Damn you, Disney. Damn you for breaking my heart. Again. Oh, one last thing--where is Chazzie-award winning director Brad Bird? Making a live action co-produced film for Warner Brothers and Disney/Pixar, apparently, so he's not on the list. Come back, Brad! Bring me my Incredibles sequel! Please! Okay, list. What follows is trimmed from their press release. Our additions and comments are in italics. Categorized as: Animation
