It's borderline morbid whimsy, which always wins with us. And either the pumpkins are smoking because of the candles inside, or it's really cold out and you can see their breath...or they're pumpkin bombs from the Green Goblin. Whatever works. I dig it. And come to think of it...you know what's really spooky? The way she draws their legs is exactly the way my legs are shaped. Which is why I have to buy relaxed fit jeans. Categorized as: Art

09.30.08 by Widge @ 11:53 am  I've always had an appreciation for Gerald Scarfe's work. After all, this is the guy who brought us the fucked up animated world of Pink Floyd: The Wall. And I knew he had been called in by Disney to work on their Hercules, but somehow I had never run across his original art. Now I have...and it is choice. That snippet above is just part of his design on Zeus, for example. There's also Cerberus, The Three Witches, Hades, and more. And of course his stuff from The Wall. He sells signed prints, too. Trouble is, the Zeus print is ?241.25. Which in today's American dollars is $5625.15. So. Someday, anyway. Categorized as: Art
