And his site is like an amusement park: there's stuff for sale, there's plenty of art ranging from the realistic and detailed to the stylized and demented. Take this "Agent," for example. Cipov says, "I happened to draw a fellow selling hands... but who knows whatelse he may have for sale." Nice. They've posted a number of the black and white illustrations from his books and they're excellent. They show that the staples of classic sci-fi illustrations--robots, guys in space suits and eggheads smoking pipes--are universal. Categorized as: Art

There's a bath in the neck, sauna in the head and the thing spurts steam from its eye sockets. Joep van Lieshout about the Wellness Skull: "The heavenly power is the big unknown, the death of the hereafter, the skull of physical shell of the mind. The earthly power is a economical power, money plays an important role on our contemporary society. Gradually the faith loses all importance and is replaced by an alternative 'self experience', through travelling, sporting and wellness centres."
Which is all well and good, but I'm just joyous about what this will do--aeons from now, when we are all dead and gone--to the evolutionary biologists of the future. Categorized as: Art

05.04.08 by Widge @ 2:36 pm  Ken sent this over: a group of artists who make badass models out of steel. Some of their work is pretty spot on and cool. And, since we were talking about the Gremlins, they have Gremlins. They also have Doctor Who's Daleks, Gundams, Terminators, and naturally, Godzilla. Though in all metal, Godzilla looks like he's been taken over by the Technarchy (which is a bit of fan fiction that, I must admit, might be fun to read). Categorized as: Art
