Origami Wraith

Some most excellent pics from the fourth annual Student Origami Competition at MIT. Next time you're having trouble just folding up a receipt and sticking it in your pocket, just bear in mind just how inept at paper-folding you really are.

No, sorry, we're just joshing. It's concept art from the Live Action "Brave Little Toaster" Series.

Talk about gift ideas for the staff here. These bits of snowglobe art are wonderful. I wish they were working models and for sale. And, you know, affordable. They're the work of Walter Martin and Paloma Muñoz.

Make sure you browse about their site. I especially dig the human candles.

Knitted Shaun of the Dead

It appears that the artist who brought you the knitted recreations of Dawn of the Dead has now brought their twisted yarny vision to Shaun of the Dead as well. Check out the gallery of photos here.

Parasite is the answer to the question you've asked yourself often, we're sure: what would happen if I created a suitcase projector that I could suction to the side of a subway car in order to project a movie on the walls as it goes by, creating art on the fly and messing with the heads of passengers? Wonder no more. It's brilliant.
