Fifteen inches tall when you factor in her staff and the statue's base. Here's what Yamato Toys tells us: Enigmatic beauty. Two words used to describe the Mona Lisa, a figure which has captivated our collective imaginations for over five centuries. Now, Yamato USA is proud to offer a modern Mona Lisa whose own enigmatic beauty will captivate us for centuries to come… AKIRA.
Inspired by the work of renowned artist Dorian Cleavenger and sculpted by Plant-jzero Moekichi, Akira is the first piece in Yamato USA's Fantasy Figure Gallery. The Fantasy Figure Gallery is a groundbreaking union of East and West as the leading sculptors of Asia deliver the worlds of legendary fantasy artists from Europe and the Americas as only they are capable. But what's more, these gorgeous, resin-quality fantasy figures are made affordable for all through advanced PVC technology. Take for example, Akira. Standing at an impressive 10.50", 15.00" with her ornamental staff and themed display base, Akira is constructed of over 100 individual pieces and features over 400 paint applications, twice the conventional statue. The result: a gallery quality piece of such lavish detail that it surpasses the expectations of even the artist himself. And as her soft, enigmatic features draw you in and take your breath away, you will know why we liken her to a modern Mona Lisa. I'm a bit surprised they're able to sell her for $98. That's impressive. Categorized as: Contests

05.16.09 by Widge @ 1:59 am Comments on this: 4. Add your own. Yamato Toys USA has got this pretty kickass PVC statue, designed by Luis Royo. Kickass not just because it's well executed, but I also mean in the sense that if you like highly decorated and tatted women who look like they could casually kick your ass with one of their many sharp pointy weapons then you're in luck. This is an almost foot-tall PVC statue that comes with a display base. Here's what they have to say for themselves: Dare you look into the face of Medusa? Legend has it that even a fleeting glance will turn a man to stone. But perhaps the real question is: will you be able to resist? Fear not! And feast your eyes upon the exquisite beauty of Yamato USA's Fantasy Figure Gallery: Medusa's Gaze inspired by the work of Luis Royo. Yamato USA's Fantasy Figure Gallery is our groundbreaking collection of resin quality PVC statues, bringing together the unrivaled talent of Asia's foremost portrait sculptors with the leading fantasy artists of Europe and the Americas. Featured here, Luis Royo's stunning Medusa's Gaze as interpreted by master sculptor Shungo Yazawa. The second piece in Yamato USA's Fantasy Figure Gallery, Medusa's Gaze stands approximately 11.80" tall, features amazingly intricate paint details, and comes complete with display base all packaged in a collector's style window box.

Here's what they have to say for themselves: In Terminator Salvation, the new installment of the Terminator movie franchise set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. 05.11.09 by Widge @ 5:50 pm Comments on this: nada. Add your own. ![]() Wow. This is hard one to talk about since after the third episode of filming this season, we lost John Ritter. Afterwards, the show decided to continue and work Ritter's death into the show, which is actually less ghoulish than it sounds on first hearing. I think they were genuinely trying to work through the loss just like the characters were, and I've written about the comedy in tragedy before as well, so I think Ritter would have agreed with their approach. Regardless, for fans of the show, we have three copies of this DVD set thanks to Lionsgate, and you're welcome to try and win one. Just enter using the form below and enter once a day.
