06.25.08 by Widge @ 2:49 am Comments on this: 4. Add your own. ![]() That's right, we're just about two weeks away from Hellboy II: The Golden Army hitting cinemas. If you dig Hellboy--and you should--here's a friendly reminder that while we have to wait four years between movies, there's scads of books starring Mike Mignola's creations available from Dark Horse now and ongoing. To check out all of their goodness, here's their Hellboy Zone on the Dark Horse site. But this is a contest, after all--and what do we have? It's a combo toy/book thing--they're taken a Hellboy figure and boxed it up with a digest-sized edition of Seed of Destruction with a new cover by Mignola. Nice. Want to win it? You can enter once a day--and you should, to increase your chances. As always, Dark Horse is more than a big red dude with a stone hand. Check out their official site here. Tell them we said howdy. 06.24.08 by Widge @ 9:52 pm Comments on this: 3. Add your own. Wait, no, sorry, here they are. Helen Mirren winners (of the DVD set, not the actress) are Kathleen Fletcher of Virginia, Nilda Nixon of Virginia, and Art Beaudet of North Carolina. The Asssscat! goes to Heather Blume of Minnesota. And Call of Duty 4 goes out to Katy French of Florida. And amusingly, all the Speed Racer winners are female--Sandra Bon of Virginia, Linda Begly of Pennsylvania, Carolyn Emes of Ontario--and the Judi Dench winners are all male--Charles Pepper of Texas, Ronnie Barrett of Kentucky, Greg King of Illinois. Go figure. And lastly, Great Debaters goes to Barbara Freedman of Massachusetts. Don't fret if you're not a winner yet--keep entering. Do it once a day. It's like brushing your teeth--hygenic and good for the people around you. And subscribe to our feed while you're at it--and never miss a chance to enter. Because that one day might be the difference between winning and not winning. Thanks! Categorized as: Contests

06.23.08 by Cosette @ 10:13 pm Comments on this: one. Add your own. ![]() Yes, that's right: it's scary retro television DVD contest time here at Needcoffee. And to be fair, I watched this when I was a kid. Looking back on it, I think television like this was pretty much comfort food: there wasn't a lot of startling revelation in an episode of The Dukes. And is there anyone who didn't want to weld their doors shut when they ever got a car? Anyway. In this release, you've got the reunion movie plus Hazzard in Hollywood. No word on when Enos: The Complete Series will be hitting DVD. Regardless, you want to win this spare copy we happen to have (courtesy of Warner Home Video)? Be our guest. Enter below. P.S. The official site is here. And slide image taken from here. Categorized as: Contests

06.23.08 by Widge @ 6:17 am Comments on this: 2. Add your own. ![]() I know you've been dying for it. But we can't say too much, because we all have our own guilty scary retro pleasures. But seriously, folks, this release from Warner Brothers comes with the second season episodes plus a new featurette featuring Erik Estrada and a best-of for the first two seasons. We've got a copy here to hand you if you win. And I'll tell you this: I was on Hilton Head Island recently, and while out on the water we passed by a privately owned island. And what did the owner of the island have setup on the land where you step off the dock? A life-size statue of Ponch, his hand on his holstered gun, guarding the island. I couldn't make something like that up. Anyway, enter below. P.S. Warner Brothers is offering images from CHiPs and other series for purchase, so check out http://www.wbphotocollection.com/ to see what the shot is. Categorized as: Contests

06.22.08 by Widge @ 7:02 am Comments on this: nada. Add your own. ![]() What's more exciting than the movie Jumper, starring Hayden Christensen? The fact that it gave a check to both Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Bell. This 2-disc special edition is here with a digital copy that you can download to your computer/iPod without black helicopters showing up with people in hazmat suits who want to lobotomize you and steal everything you own. Yes, in that order. Anyway, we've got three extra copies here of this sci-fi bit from Fox. Want to snag it? Be our guest. Enter like the mad weasels you are. Categorized as: Contests

06.21.08 by Widge @ 5:08 pm Comments on this: one. Add your own. ![]() The Red Violin is a badass movie. And when you see that Sam Jackson's in it and you hear me describe it as "badass" you might think that the violin is secretly some sort of weapon. Or that Sam beats somebody's ass with the titular object. Um...no. It's a criminally underviewed time-spanning drama about the object in question and many of the lives it's passed through. It's just damn, damn good. Have I impressed upon you that it's good? Good. Because I've got two extra copies here, and I'd love to send them to a good home. You want to win them? You have to enter. Yes, there's always a catch. Categorized as: Contests

You've got six discs jammed into a steelbook case so you're not eating up shelf space. And apparently the fans voted on this one as well, so here's the six games they decided were "essential" when it came to the Mets and Shea Stadium:
Again, you're looking at sixteen and a half hours of stuff, plus some bonus bits which I've included after the entry form. We have one copy here...want it? Then go for it--and do so once a day, friends. Categorized as: Contests
