A team of characters in cars fighting a team of veggies that can morph into killer cars? Sort of like Death Race 2000 crossed with brussel sprouts. Based on a line of toys that you probably remember even less? No? Not ringing any bells? Here, let me help you--here's what Shout Factory says: When a solar flare wreaks havoc on his botanical experiments, Jayce's father is forced to flee from his accidental creations: Saw Boss and his band of ruthless mutated plant life called the Monster Minds. Now it's up to Jayce, joined by the valiant Lightning League, to reunite with his father and combine the two halves of the magic Root amulet—the only object capable of purging the universe of Saw Boss and his army forever. Based on the popular line of Mattel toys, and scripted by acclaimed writers such as J. Michael Straczynski (creator of Babylon 5), the first 33 episodes of Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors finally make their way to DVD, taking nostalgic action to a whole new level! Still no bell action? Hmm. Try this: Direct link for the feedreaders. Did that help? Thought it might. Categorized as: Contests

03.25.08 by Widge @ 1:38 am Comments on this: 2. Add your own. As one of the five people on the planet who really didn't "get" Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly's version of The Last Temptation of Christ featuring a demonic bunny and a jet engine, I was intrigued to see Southland Tales coming out. After all, I'm looking forward to Dwayne Johnson getting a decent film for once and the varied cast of actors also involved in this gives one pause. And hope. But is it warranted? Well, you can find that out for yourself...but first, time for some housekeeping. Here's what they have to say about this release from Sony: From acclaimed writer/director Richard Kelly, the visionary creator behind the modern classic Donnie Darko, comes another exercise in mind-bending cool with SOUTHLAND TALES, available on DVD March 18, 2008 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment with bonus materials that include a making-of featurette and animated short. The film is a dark comedy about the absurdities of political extremes that bring about the end of the world. Featuring an all-star ensemble cast including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (The Scorpion King, Walking Tall) Sarah Michelle Gellar (The Grudge, TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Seann William Scott (The Rundown, American Pie), Mandy Moore (A Walk To Remember, Saved!) and Justin Timberlake (Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan). Okay, so you want to sample some of it? Sure thing. Have some vids. Categorized as: Contests

But allow Harper Collins, who's releasing the book, to explain: Don't Bump The Glump! is a menagerie of silly and scary creatures illustrated by the author in stunning ink and watercolor washes—the only children's book he created in full color. Step inside this most unusual bestiary and meet a number of outrageous characters including the Wild Gazite, the Flying Festoon, the Slithergadee, and the One-Legged Zantz. Now available again after more than thirty years, this richly rendered collection of 45 poems will mesmerize Shel Silverstein fans of all ages. That's right, and it was originally published under the name Uncle Shelby's Zoo, so if you're wondering why you've never heard of this as a book title before--there you go. So a hardcover full color book of Silverstein's stuff, which has been out of print for a while now. Nice, huh? We've got three copies to give away, so if you want to snag one, get to it!
