Okay, folks. In about eight hours or so Threadless is going to be doing $10 tees in honor of their tenth anniversary. And that sale is going to end Saturday at 11am EST. Now you know that and you know we tell you this when they do a sale because Threadless tees make great gifts and there's something for just about anybody. I'm not just blowing smoke--I, like many of you, own way too many of the damn things.

But this time I'm telling you something else: a contest. A very simple contest. You can win one of two $50 Threadless gift certificates. That's right: we will have two winners.

But this one's a little different than our normal contests so here's how it works.

  • Normally contests run for one month. This contest will run for one week instead.
  • Normally you can enter once a day. This contest you can enter once. Well, I mean, you can come and enter every day, but we'll only count your first entry. That's right, knock yourself out.
  • Normally there's a form for you to fill out and we pick the winner from those entries. This contest we will pick a winner from the comments on this post. (Scroll to the bottom to leave a comment.) What constitutes a valid entry? You need to have a valid email address in the comment (not where everybody can see it--there's a place to put it already, so just use that--nobody sees it but us, don't worry). If we try to email you that you won and your email bounces, you're out and we pick another winner. So none of this cute "idontwantyourfreakingemail at justletmewin dot com" or anything. And you need to tell us, in your comment, your favorite Threadless tee. That's it. Just tell us what Threadless tee is your favorite and that's all you need. Of course, it has to be an actual tee. You can't just make up a clever-sounding fake t-shirt name and win.
  • Creating a bunch of fake e-mails or temporary e-mails trying to game the system and win by flooding the playing field with comments will annoy us. Do NOT annoy us. If you annoy us by creating a dozen e-mails at yourprivatedomain dot com or hotmail or gmail or wherever for the purposes of trying to stack the odds in your favor, we reserve the right to invalidate your entries. So remember the golden rule--don't be a dick--and you'll be fine.
  • Also, please note that if you leave a comment and it doesn't appear right away, it's probably held for moderation. Don't panic. We do that so we can keep all of us from having to deal with the various and sundry offers to sell prescription drugs and aluminum siding and FSM knows what. Those of you have been around for a while remember when we were getting spam commented so bad it was cratering our server. So by entering this contest you will try to stay calm if your comment doesn't show up right away. We appreciate your patience.

You might notice that since this contest ends on 3/25, you won't make it in time for this sale. But trust me, they have others. And seriously, trying to run the contest, close the contest, pick a winner, get the winner to respond, get the certificate to them...in 48 hours? Nobody needs that stress. Especially not us.

So go to the Threadless site. Pick your favorite tee. Come back here and tell us what it is. And if we pick yours--which is a random drawing just as always, let me stress, so there's no wrong tee to pick--then you win. Good luck.

Possession DVD

It's Possession out from Fox. Here's what they have to say for themselves:

A woman's true devotion to the one she loves is tested in the year's most mesmerizing thriller, Possession. Starring Golden Globe nominee Sarah Michelle Gellar ("Buffy The Vampire Slayer"), Lee Pace ("Pushing Daisies") and Michael Landes (Lakeview Terrace), this suspenseful mystery explores the darkest secrets of love and grief for one happy couple. Newlyweds Jess (Gellar) and Ryan (Landes) seem to have it all until a car accident renders both Ryan and his brother Roman (Pace) comatose. But things spin even more eerily out of control when Roman wakes up and tries to convince Jess that he is her husband. Beside herself with fear and grief, Jess grapples with the one question: could the man before her actually be the man she lost…or does something far more sinister await her in his arms? The Possession DVD features deleted and alternate scenes as well as an alternate ending.

Win Fix on DVD!

Fix DVD

It's Fix, out from E1 Entertainment and starring Olivia Wilde from House. Here's what they have to say for themselves:

Bolting across Los Angeles, filmmakers Bella (Olivia Wilde, Year One) and Milo (director Tao Ruspoli) dash from Beverly Hills to Watts – and everywhere in between – in a race-against-time to get Milo's brother Leo (Shawn Andrews, The Caretaker) from jail to rehab before 8pm, or else Leo goes to prison for three years. Inspired by true events, FIX is a visually stunning, fast-paced ride that enjoyed significant critical acclaim following its 2009 theatrical release and was a multiple award-winner on the festival circuit. Loaded with bonus features, including two separate audio commentaries (one with the filmmaker and the crew, the other with the actors), "Making-of" video shorts and a photo gallery, this "breezy, brash" road-trip gem will park on DVD March 9 from E1 Entertainment. Shot entirely by Ruspoli with a hand-held camera, FIX follows the misfit trio over a fifteen-hour day as they document their trip from a suburban police station in Calabasas through mansions in Beverly Hills, East LA chop-shops, rural wastelands, and housing projects in Watts as they attempt to raise the $5,000 required to admit Leo into the rehab clinic. Along the way they meet dozens of colorful characters, each with their own anomalous perspective on Leo's larger than life personality and style, and each with their own excuse for why they cannot help out. In the end, it may take the desperate irony of a drug deal to get the necessary funds to send Leo to rehab, in this film that signals a wonderful new voice in American independent feature filmmaking.
