What's that to my left? That's a picture of me when I heard about the box office from yesterday, wailing about the state of modern culture.

But never mind that now. I want to talk to you about Universal's recent DVD release, White Noise.

You can win it.

End of discussion.

Untold Tales of FDR #3 (of 3)

Time for the third and final reveal.

What we learned recently is that the U.S. government worked out a deal to acquire the plans for Father Ermetti's Chronovisor time machine, and used them to work out a way to bring legends from the past into the present. They did this in response to the temporal arms race set off by the Nazis in World War II, who managed to ally themselves with Thulsa Doom in 1948 C.E.

The Americans, in a project led by...that's right: FDR...were able to retrieve Conan the Barbarian from his own time and bring him forward to fight the combined forces of Nazi Germany and Doom. This helped bring about the true end of the second World War in 1951.

Our makeshift playset of the Talking FDR and Conan goes to Sandy Okstad of Minnesota.

And I know you're thinking...wait, FDR died in 1945! Ah, that's what you think. Maybe someday we'll have even more...UNTOLD TALES OF FDR.

Untold Tales of FDR #2 (of 3)

That's right. You know the Millennium Group. Frank Black went to work for them and all kind of mayhem (and a short-lived TV series) ensued.

But what you didn't know--and we just learned via these government documents we've received--is that the founder of the Millennium Group?

You guessed it. FDR.

Here we see FDR and Frank Black together again for the first time, working on a case on one of the rare occasions that FDR got back out in the field. But having started out his career as a badass secret agent, he liked to get out every once in a while.

Paul Kent of California wins this makeshift playset: Talking FDR and the Frank Black figure. What a deal.

Untold Tales of FDR #1 (of 3)

First up, let's get a couple of other winners out of the way, while I have your attention.

The April Mystery Box Winner, who gets a big box of comics since April is traditionally Mystery Comic Box Month, is Kellie Liming of Virginia.

The Long View Contest winner, who wins the CD signed by the band and the swank digital camera, is Polly Johnson of Texas.

And we finally were able to, using the Freedom of Information Act, pry photos from the government of the Untold Tales of FDR. That's why issue number one is here, and we learned a startling fact:

You know in the G-Force cartoons, how Chief Anderson was the guy who basically plays Professor X to the teen ninjas in the silly outfits?

Bzzzt! Wrong. Chief Anderson is the character they had to put in place for the cartoon because they couldn't reveal who was really behind G-Force.

That's right. FDR.

In reality, he trained them and led them. But because this is such new and startling information, we had to make up our own playsets. We are that ahead of the game. So that's why Laurie Briscoe of Pennsylvania is winning our makeshift Talking FDR/Mark from G-Force twofer playset.

Stay tuned. There's two more shocking revelations to come.

Yup, another one. Hey, we agreed when we started this party: we'd bring the prizes if you'd bring the root beer and pretzels. And we're still waiting for the damn root beer and pretzels.

Anyway.

Fox has given five sets of the latest wave of Studio Classics releases on DVD. So if you like the classics, then you better get on over there.
