So Revolver, the long sought for new film by Guy Ritchie, who, say what you want, has made some great flicks like Lock Stock and Snatch. He's also made some missteps, but he who is without dumbass decision let he throw the first stone. Anyway, Sony is releasing the film to DVD. You've got Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Andre Benjamin from OutKast and Vincent Pastore. The DVD comes with featurettes, alternate opening and ending sequences, deleted scenes, and a commentary with Ritchie. Here's more info:

Just out of prison, Jake Green (Statham) is a hotshot gambler, but he's rarely allowed to play in any casino because he always wins. When Jake is invited to a private game with Macha (Liotta), a crime boss and local casino owner, he is expected to lose. But Jake isn't afraid of Macha, and not only beats him in a quick game of chance, but takes every possible opportunity to insult the man. Jake leaves the game, and Macha puts out the order for a hit on Jake, who ends up working for and being protected by a pair of loan sharks, Avi and Zack, who are out to take Macha down.

If you want to sample it, here's some vid clips:

Win I Am Legend on DVD!

I Am Legend--the book--is Stephen King's favorite novel. The film is something we've had an interest in for some time. And I know some people weren't pleased with this version--but take it from someone who had read the script for the Schwarzenegger version: we got off easy.

Regardless, it's here in a two-disc special edition from Warner Brothers that includes a full-blown alternate version of the film with a different ending, plus some animated comics.

If you want to see Will Smith up against the non-vampire vampires (played vocally by Mike Patton), then here's your chance to win a copy. We have five to give away.

(P.S. Read the book. There's nothing quite like reading a futuristic sci-fi book, written in the 50s, set in the 80s)

Well, we are coming up on April, the cruelest month, the month of poetry, so it only seems fitting that we're going to give away a copy of this docu from MVD. Here's the skinnee from their site:

GANG OF SOULS (1989) is Maria Beatty's engaging documentary exploring the insights and influences of the American Beat Poets. The film conveys their consciousness and sensibility through candid interviews with William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Diane Di Prima, among others. Designed as a tribute to them and to their spirit of artistic freedom, Gang of Souls also weaves in additional commentary from contemporary musicians, poets and writers such as Marianne Faithfull, Richard Hell, Lydia Lunch and Henry Rollins. The film seeks to truly capture the magic of the Beat generation and it's continuing legacy. It brilliantly expands upon how the poets reached new levels of creativity and inspired unprecedented social change.

Anytime you can get Uncle Bill and Henry in the same disc...seems like it's worthwhile to me. So...we managed to snag an extra copy for you to win. How do you win? You must first enter! So hop on it, friends...
