You know, the kind that harkens back to that bygone era of teens + sharp implements wielded by a freaking loonbag = fun? The kind that would pay homage to those who had gone before, by including folks like Kane Hodder, Robert Englund, Tony Todd and Joshua Leonard. You know. What, we have one? And we have five copies of it to share? And they all come with commentary and featurettes and a gag reel and whatnot? Really? Oh man, I think we need a contest. Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards, Brian Cox, Elias Koteas, Donal Logue and Dermot Mulroney. We've got five copies of it to give out, and each one comes with two different commentaries, a behind-the-scenes docu, an effects featurette, animatics comparisons, a historical feature-length docu, and a docu about the prime suspect in the case. And it's HD-DVD. Which I know we've stated might be on its way out, but hey, you can look at three ways. You could own an HD-DVD player and want this. 01.14.08 by Widge @ 10:17 pm  Isn't it fascinating the different directions the Pythons went in? Terry Gilliam directs. Michael Palin travels the globe. Eric Idle tries to milk his past. John Cleese does whatever he feels like it, usually with a paycheck involved. And Terry Jones explores history. Case in point: here he takes a look at the barbarians that supposedly didn't do much other than plague Rome (not literally) and, you know, be barbaric. Well, the victors are always the ones who get to write history, and Jones takes the side of the so-called barbarians and lays out a different story for you. Fascinating stuff. You get all four episodes across two discs. Perfect win for any Python fan or history fan. And even more perfect if you dig both.
