08.20.07 by Widge @ 10:58 pm H.P. Lovecraft is 117 years young today. To celebrate, here's a bunch of Lovecraft-related goodies. First up, let's listen to The Neil give his thoughts on Howard. I think he speaks for a goodly number of us: Update: They took down the bit. If anybody relocates it, please let me know. We agree with The Neil's assessment. Lovecraft's beasties are supposed to be indescribable, so visual media dealing with the mythos are at a distinct disadvantage. However, one film we think stands above all others. There's one no brainer we've posted previously. But I think this next one is simply necessary: Categorized as: Events

08.13.07 by Widge @ 9:50 am Alfred Hitchcock--the master craftsman of suspense. Not only could the man put together a mean movie (no pun intended, sometimes) but he had a wicked sense of humor. Emphasis on the wicked. Example: his solution below for something that afflicts the majority of this site's readers... Direct link for the feedreaders. More after the break... Categorized as: Events
