09.24.07 by Widge @ 11:18 pm ![]() We're big fans of Muppets around here. The only thing that comes close to our love of Muppets is our love of zombies. Which...says a lot about our mental state, we think. Anyway, when one thinks of a Muppet-themed cake, chances are your mind strays to stuff like the Kermit-shaped foil cake pan featured on this page. So we were impressed as hell by this Kentucky State Fair blue ribbon-winner: a cake that features the major players of the Muppet Show...in tasty 3-D. We have just a snippet, you really must go and see the full majesty of this thing. It looks almost too good to eat, but we've gotten over that before. Categorized as: Food

08.25.07 by Widge @ 5:57 pm ![]() Dan Goodsell, keeper of obscure lore, has stumbled across evidence of something I never knew existed: TV dinners that come with Twinkies inside the box. That's right: burger, fries, corn...and a Twinkie. Spaghetti, meatballs, what looks like peas...and a Twinkie. Was there ever a time in my life when I would have found those concepts appetizing in the least? I mean, I used to eat Twinkies, but with spaghetti? Now I'm assuming the Twinkie had to be frozen too, right? So while a Twinkie might sound appealing, imagine a Twinkie you had to reheat. Egad, people. And what's great is that the Twinkie just isn't enough--there's another dessert in there too. 1974. When Twinkies weren't just a snack, they were a part of dinner. Categorized as: Food

08.23.07 by Widge @ 3:56 am ![]() So Chocablog has delivered news of a site which could be potentially devastating in that it will hasten the ever-widening of my can. And because I hate to suffer alone, I will share with all of you: it's the Chocomap. Yes, it uses Google Maps to help you find chocolate shops in a goodly number of cities. Sometimes you should fear technology, sometimes you should embrace it. Sometimes, you should just bite the bullet and do both. Categorized as: Food

08.21.07 by Widge @ 2:18 am Christopher Walken a foodie? Who knew? Anyway, here's his preparation of a roasted chicken with pears. Walken is so delightful (and yet can be so creepy), this reminds us of another celebrity chef... Categorized as: Food

08.17.07 by ScottC @ 3:12 pm ![]() Ah, the simplicity of the of the sandwich. Two pieces of bread, some meat, cheese, and other assorted foodstuff and you have a meal. However, the most aesthetic touch you can bring is usually the toothpicks with the colored foil at the end. But Amsterdamn.org wanted to get creative and so he shares the results to the Internets. "Looks almost too too good to eat" pretty much says it all. Categorized as: Food
