08.17.07 by ScottC @ 3:12 pm ![]() Ah, the simplicity of the of the sandwich. Two pieces of bread, some meat, cheese, and other assorted foodstuff and you have a meal. However, the most aesthetic touch you can bring is usually the toothpicks with the colored foil at the end. But Amsterdamn.org wanted to get creative and so he shares the results to the Internets. "Looks almost too too good to eat" pretty much says it all. Categorized as: Food

08.15.07 by Widge @ 3:37 am ![]() Evil Mad Scientist Labs makes mention that Bawls Mints have gone the way of all flesh, only to be replaced by Bawls Buzz, which apparently has a different formulation that they find most displeasing. I dunno, I thought Bawls Mints weren't too terribly happening as they were, so maybe I'll like the new concoction. Anyway, if you dug the stuff, you had best stock up now. And stop over there and read the print on the bottom of the box regardless. Categorized as: Food

08.12.07 by Widge @ 3:18 am Vincent Price truly did love food. After all, he recorded albums discussing food, which we've discussed before. And it sounded like he really knew what he was talking about--but then again, Price has got one of those voices that he can make sound like anything he wants. So. If you need further evidence of his love of food, we offer up this fine panel sketch he served on: Categorized as: Food

07.21.07 by Widge @ 7:10 pm And yes, that is the man who brought you The Cowardly Lion. I didn't know he had been in potato chip adverts. Free idea: a site that takes actors that are known by today's audiences for one thing (i.e. Lahr here for The Wizard of Oz) and then educates us on the rest of their career. Because so much of what else they were up to gets lost/forgotten/overshadowed. I'd do it myself, but I don't know enough and am too damn busy as it stands. E-mail me when it's up. Thanks. 07.21.07 by Widge @ 4:46 am ![]() Aw, man. That ain't right. Junk Food Blog gives us the headsup about Ben and Jerry's plans to tie-in to the Simpsons movie. For one day only, in the town of Springfield, Vermont (which won the bragging rights to host the premiere of the film), there will be Duff and D'oh Nuts. They report it's "a combination of chocolate and cream stout ice creams with glazed chocolate donuts." It sounds like it's only going to be in Springfield, if I'm reading this article right. Dammit. Want. Of course, I don't have a Kwik-E Mart anywhere nearby, so I can't even get Buzz Cola, much less that stuff. Suck factor is high! Categorized as: Food
