Written by Bob Baker, Steve Box & Mark Burton, based on characters created by Nick Park My Advice: Don't miss it. Our heroes Wallace (Sallis) and Gromit have had many adventures in their time. They've gone to the moon, thwarted a criminal penguin, and broken up a sheep rustling ring. This time around they've created Anti-Pesto, a humane pest control service. A giant vegetable contest (a community tradition) is upcoming, and unless the rabbits can be kept under control, then all the massive veggies will get gnawed away to nothing. Wallace and Gromit are especially interested in a new client, the Lady Tottington (Carter), because keeping her prize veggies safe will be really great for business. Not to mention the fact that she's quite the looker (by claymation and Wallace's standards). However, there's a new player on the scene...a terrifying, hulking creature that exists only to throw veggies down its giant gullet: the Were-Rabbit. Categorized as: Movies and Reviews

12.21.05 by Widge @ 9:50 pm ![]() Kidding. Defamer, Lords of the Hollywood Snark, have placed online images of the Xmas card coming out of X-Men 3 (click to see the whole shebang). I don't know what's more terrifying about this pic...Ratner as Wolverine, or the Beast in leather pants. Actually, come to think of it...isn't the Beast wearing Logan's outfit from the Morrison run? Weird. Categorized as: Movies

12.18.05 by Siege @ 7:18 pm Written by: Andrew Adamson, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely & Ann Peacock, based on the novel by C.S. Lewis Review: Well, the acting of the four leads left much to be desired, but the effects were awesome. Liam Neeson kicks ass even as a CGIed lion. And if you look closely, Aslan even looks like him. But what I really want to know is: why does the dwarf sound like Pearl from Blade? Time: 9 seconds. Categorized as: Movies and Reviews

12.18.05 by Widge @ 5:56 pm ![]() Film: Written by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens & Peter Jackson, based on the story by Merian C. Cooper & Edgar Wallace My Advice: Matinee. Carl Denham (Black) has a vision. Okay, well, Leonard Cohen would call it a scheme. He's known for going and making safari movies, but now his backers want more. So he's lined up a name actor (Kyle Chandler) and a name actress...oops, she's dropped out of the project. Denham has to find a replacement actress (Watts), get his screenwriter (Brody) to finish his work, and somehow convince everyone that they're filming in Singapore, when in fact they're headed to a place called Skull Island with nothing but a strange map of how to get there and a load of bad checks. Once there, however, they're going to get much more than they bargained for. Much more indeed. Mooha. Okay, it's nearly pointless to worry about spoilers for a film, at least for major plot points. The only thing more ridiculous would be being concerned about the end of Hamlet or something. We know where this is going. So the trick with this film is to make the ride to get there an enjoyable one. With Jackson on board to make the film he's been wanting to make since before Lord of the Rings, can the ride be worthwhile? Categorized as: Movies and Reviews

12.15.05 by Siege @ 1:00 am Written by: Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens & Peter Jackson, based on the story by Merian C. Cooper & Edgar Wallace Review: Quite simply, it rocked hard. Unlike most remakes, it pays great homage to the original. And then of course it has enough balls-to-the-wall destruction to make you piss yourself with glee. So bring an extra pair of shorts.
