10.23.05 by Widge @ 2:42 am ![]() This video has Bob Burns showing up to gab with Peter Jackson. He brings along the armature from the original Kong. It takes the full tour of the production crew for the remake, gets animated yet again, and enables Jackson to recreate a famous pose that he has the other puppet for. Too freaking cool. 10.18.05 by Siege @ 2:35 am ![]() Written & Directed by: Joss Whedon Review: Sure it's chock full of cheesy one-liners. And sure you could tell if a character would end up living or dying as soon as you meet them. But what's important is that it kicked ass. Especially for something that was resurrected from the Fox graveyard of shows, most of which suffered from the highly fatal Immediate Fanbase Deficiency Syndrome. Time: 13 seconds. 10.02.05 by Widge @ 7:13 pm ![]() Film: Written by Neil Gaiman, based on a story by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean My Advice: Don't miss it. Helena (Leonidas) is a girl with a dilemma. Whereas some kids dream of living in a fantasy circus world, Helena gets it day-in, day-out...and she's bored to death with it. Of course, her mother and father (McKee and Brydon) do run a circus that's basically what would happen if Dave McKean designed a Cirque du Soleil show, so I'm sure just the constant visual stimulation would wear anybody's ass out eventually. But when her mother falls ill, Helena finds herself in a place that's pure, mainlined McKean, which is like Dali illustrating Alice in Wonderland. Helena has to figure out where she is and why she's there before the land she's arrived in is consumed by the darkness and destroyed. Categorized as: Movies and Reviews

09.25.05 by Siege @ 4:23 am Written & Directed by: Andrew Niccol Review: Of course I'm going to like this movie. It's about guns. And what guns do. The politics are subtle enough that you might think it's only an action flick. But there's also values and other junk like that, too. And as far as the "life of a 7.62" opening sequence goes, if I had an award to give it, I would. Time: 15 seconds. Categorized as: Movies and Reviews
