27 Second Review: Deuce Bigalow, European Gigolo
Posted on 08.16.05 by Siege @ 1:59 am

Written by: Harris Goldberg & Rob Schneider
Directed by: Mike Bigelow
Starring: Rob Schneider, Eddie Griffin, Jeroen Krabbe, Til Schweiger, Hanna Verboom, Douglas Sills

Review: It's time to clear up something about these movies, and the system of character development in general once and for all. Oded Fehr is Israeli, okay? Not Hispanic. Seriously, what the hell?

What Have We Done, Shane?

The name of the movie is The South Will Rise Again. And the title is brilliant because it is a Southern zombie comedy. The trailer is up on their site. Go watch it now. I laughed until my right asscheek fell off.

Finally, Retribution for a Rob Schneider Film

Scourge: Justice is Served

Justice is served.

David Manning, as you might remember, was a fake film critic created by Sony to help them promote films that were essentially crap. Although I actually appreciated The Patriot. But the good news is if you found yourself unwittingly a pawn in their game and shelling out dough to see Hollow Man, Vertical Limit, A Knight's Tale, or The Animal in cinemas, they owe you.

Next...Deuce Bigalow.

27 Second Review: Stealth
Posted on 08.03.05 by Siege @ 12:06 am

Written by: W.D. Richter
Directed by: Rob Cohen
Starring: Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Sam Shepard, Richard Roxburgh, Joe Morton

Review: Let's throw realism to the wind and get beaten to death by cinematography! As taken as I am by mass amounts of explosions (see War of the Worlds), it's hard to overlook vacant acting. Hard, but not impossible. BOOM! Moohoohahaha! Wait, what was I saying? Oh, yeah...why does the plane look like a giant horseshoe crab?

27 Second Review: The Island (2005)
Posted on 07.31.05 by Widge @ 4:53 pm

Written by: Caspian Treadwell-Owen
Directed by: Michael Bay
Starring: Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson, Sean Bean, Djimon Hounsou, Steve Buscemi, Michael Clarke Duncan

Review: Losing your virginity should be a special occasion. Especially if you're losing it to Scarlett Johansson. Only trouble is, Ewan McGregor's character is, for all intents and purposes, three years old. Man, life's a bitch, ain't it? Anyway, this movie has basically the same plot as this one that I first saw on MST3K all those years ago. But it also has kickass explosions, rocket bikes, and the bastard child of Cadillac and Lamborghini. It's far from MST3K-worthy, actually not a bad film, but don't expect the best.

Time: 23 seconds.
