09.30.09 by Widge @ 7:58 pm ![]() Okay, so here's the added wrinkle to this year's incarnation of 32 Days of Halloween, before we get to tonight's feature presentation. Because I wanted to do something else this year, I've decided that everyday I'm going to record and post a reading of a story that fits in with the season. Some are going to be of my own invention, but most are going to be some classic bits like this one: Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven." I'm not Vincent Price, but I give it a whirl. Let me know what you think. Also, if you have anything you'd like me to read, I'm taking requests. The parameters are: can't be novel-length, because I mean, come on--and has to be something I can legally, you know, publish a thing of me reading it. Public domain is great, creative commons also good, or whatever. So leave a comment here if you'd like me to consider what's what. But hurry, I'm already filling up slots. By the way, we've mentioned the actual pet of Charles Dickens that inspired the poem before. Which is kind of a cool story. Find it directly here. Or subscribe to the feed to get all the 32 Days audio. If you're already subscribed to our Needcoffee.com general podcast feed, you'll get these anyway, so not to worry. Categorized as: Podcasts

09.26.09 by Widge @ 6:09 am ![]() And we're back. Sorry for the delay in getting this up, but other real world craziness plus a huge file that actually needed editing this time made me run very late. 09.21.09 by Widge @ 10:19 pm ![]() The first of our panels from DragonCon 2009 that we recorded for posterity so that you--the people who stayed home--can enjoy (or manifest a reasonable facsimile of enjoyment) our schtick. This was the Needcoffee.com vs. The Apocalypse panel that we provided for the Apocalypse Rising track. All manner of pop culture death and destruction with was discussed, with many, many digressions. It's like Weekend Justice but live and even somehow less coherent. The participants were Rox of Spazhouse, Doc Ezra, ScottC, Service and myself. Thanks to Kelly of the AR track for asking us to come do our thing. Thanks to the people who actually showed up to discuss The End with us. And thanks to Jon and his Unique Geek Swat Squad, who captured this for us. Categorized as: Podcasts

09.18.09 by Widge @ 10:28 am ![]() And we're back. This is not a new episode, per se, but it's new to you. We recorded this before DragonCon with the idea that it was going up Friday morning. But then the Con fell on us and we're still recovering. So to buy ourselves more time, we throw this to you and run. Run like hell.
