03.19.05 by Widge @ 12:56 am Sorry we're late. Warren Ellis threw up a forum and next thing I knew, the day was behind me. No clue. Bunny Suicides, Miyazaki, They Might Be Giants, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and so forth and so on... Categorized as: Recommendations

09.26.02 by Widge @ 4:45 am Each Thursday (or Friday, since some weeks we seem to be running behind on everything), Needcoffee.com's staff of whackos will wrack our brains to give you interesting and new things to do over the weekend. Books, movies, whatever. We'll throw them out, you do with them what you will. And hey...if you have something you want to recommend--whatever it is--drop us a line. Incidentally, we've provided links where we can for you to buy the stuff or find out more if you're interested, courtesy of those Amazon types. Hey, come on, we can't be totally selfless in this, can we? ![]() Book of the Week: Harpo Speaks! by Harpo Marx with Rowland Barber. One might expect little from the silent Marx brother (who spoke quite well off-camera--just not on), but he wasn't a member of the famed Algonquin Round Table because of his good looks. Harpo's book is over twice as long as Groucho's autobiography, and also much more in-depth. While Groucho would often go for the punchline, Harpo relates the numerous anecdotes from his life in a very informative, almost conversational fashion. Which is not to say that humor doesn't abound throughout, because it's an exceptionally funny little tome. [[ More this way... ]] Categorized as: Recommendations
