01.12.09 by Widge @ 8:39 pm  Another update from Threadless, another barrage of cool stuff. Although the standout this week is from Chow Hon Lam, "Samurai Sushi." As you can see, it's pretty badass--and it's on a white tee, so that actually means a lot coming from me. What's more, it has the seal of approval from Doc Ezra, our in-house Keeper of the Fu. I'd also point out that there have been some other tees I neglected to call to your attention, such as "Contraband," which thanks to glow-in-the-dark ink is probably not something you want to wear near a TSA agent. If they don't like even a picture of a gun, then they'll hate the hell out of this one. Enjoy. Categorized as: Shirts

12.04.08 by Widge @ 3:08 am  So I know we spend a lot of time talking about Threadless, but there are other sites that deserve your t-shirt purchasing love. For example, the one pictured is "Killovision," a reprint from Go Ape Shirts. I like it because it seems like what would happen if David Cronenberg had directed Pleasantville in a decidedly grindhouse style. Then you've got a great shirt from Diesel Sweeties in which it was stated that Red Bull would give you wings...but never specifically what sort of wings. "The energy drinks of the night...what sweet insomnia they make..." For you Douglas Adams fans out there, there is a t-shirt, in silver foil on black, for Disaster Area--the rock and roll equivalent of Galactus--taken from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. That's available from ThinkGeek. And last but not least, there's a great couple of restaurants here in Atlanta called The Vortex. I don't get to eat there nearly as often as I'd like. Their burgers are absolutely badass. Their symbol is a ginormous skull and they incorporated that into this zombie tribute shirt, which proclaims: "When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will walk to The Vortex." And, just like they always do, they threw a slew more onto the pile this week. My personal favorite is the one above, "The Seven Ages of Dandelion," because I think that counts as a bit of morbid whimsy. There's also a shirt featuring cute bunnies which reveal their true nature only in sunlight--it uses UV ink, the sort of wickedry we've mentioned before. And I'm convinced this is what you get when Dindrane and ScottC collaborate on a shirt. Again, if you want these deals, I suggest snagging them now. 11.25.08 by Widge @ 4:30 am  Okay, folks. It's the Threadless holiday sale. What does this mean to you, the consumer? That if you move your ass you can get some of your holiday shopping done with $5 tees. Not everything is $5, some are $10, some are $15, like the new one posted here, with zombies at the top of the food chain. There's also the vampire kit and the walrus road block reprint, which appeals to me for some reason that I can't quite explain. I say move your ass because every time they have a sale, the inventory gets sucked dry with a quickness. So, seriously, if you want something don't wait, because you'll be crying in your espresso if you delay. Categorized as: Shirts
