04.22.05 by Widge @ 4:58 am ![]() Well, the big madness going on is our first trial game of our online version of 1000 Blank White Cards, which we're calling "Hail Discordia!" or "Hail Discardia!" depending on how exhausted we are at the time. You can see the game in progress here and we've created a virtual card table here. We've also got our two new contests going on, for The Eels and also for In Living Color, with more in the works. Check out all of our running contests here. And Tuffley's kicked off our best Great Debate to date. As for other mayhem, if you missed it, check out created by folks with graphics tools and a lot of time. There's also the touching tale of a frog and a lobster, an inflatable and tacky tribute to a disaster, an idiot who thinks keying cars is art, kickass developments in rediscovered classical writings... ...and there's a helluva lot more, but there you have it. Go forth and enjoy the lost productivity. Categorized as: Stimuli

04.16.05 by Widge @ 1:27 pm ![]() The hordes of maniacs at Something Awful have done it again. They've made me spew Coke all over my desk. Bastards. Their Photoshop Friday mayhem consists of remixes of Sin City. Just don't be drinking anything when you go. Found via the monkey that works the fu. Categorized as: Stimuli

04.15.05 by Widge @ 2:33 pm Well, let's see. For those of you who fell asleep during the week, here are some necessary links so we know you didn't miss them. We've got two new contests up, for Long-View and The Untold Tales of FDR. The Hitchhiker's Guide movie is going to suck, but this should not be news to anyone. And a couple of very, very cool designs smacking Star Wars geeks and the music industry are must haves. The big thing in the Gabfest is that we've lost our minds and started playing a variation of 1000 Blank White Cards called "Hail Discordia! The CCG". You can see the rules and credits here and we've got the ongoing game here. There's a rant/manifesto/post about starting your own revolution that I think everybody, especially artists, need to read. Oh, and whining Trekkies, Paramount wants you to get a grip (and so do I). That's it. That's our rhyme. There's more cool stuff going on on the site, but that should get you started on catching up. 04.10.05 by Widge @ 1:43 am ![]() This review of the Hitchhiker's Guide movie is pretty damn damning. Why should you care? Well, because it's written by a Douglas Adams biographer, M.J. Simpson. Spoiler-ridden, but there's a link there to a non-spoiler version if you're so reclined. Categorized as: Headsup and Movies and Stimuli

04.08.05 by Widge @ 4:20 am In case you were actually trying to be productive at work this week, mayhap you missed out on some mayhem. Never fear, here's a roundup of some of the best and most disturbed that were chronicled here during the week so you can pretty much blow some time. It is Friday, after all. Doc was on hand to remind the literate among you about National Poetry Month. But the winner goes to Siege for posting the Kitten Cannon. Nothing quite like a meowing projectile, is there? (Sorry, Din.) Enjoy. Categorized as: Stimuli
