As we mentioned before in respect to a precursor of Python, Mark Evanier has stated (and I wish I could find the original link) that if Python had occurred just a bit earlier, it would have been in black and white rather than color and thus subject to the BBC's policy of wiping. It's just too mind-numbing to consider, honestly. However, we don't have to consider it. We can instead revel--and indeed, wallow--in it. Team Python has put some of their greatest hits online, so we can use them to help celebrate this glorious day forty years ago when Python first hit the television. Back then they were just glad to have the price of a cup of tea. Here's what I think is one of the best musical numbers to ever hit the big screen. No lie. Direct link for the feedreaders. I would also advise you to check out one of my favorite Python bits we've ever posted, in which they invade a morning chat show in 1975. Categorized as: TV

Comments on this: just one. Add your own. So last year we had some Karloff to take you into Day 6 of 32 Days of Halloween. Karloff sang and also was on the Dinah Shore show. Keeping with that Karloff tradition, here's the episode of This Is Your Life where he was featured. It's about a half-hour, but if you can't watch the whole thing, at least hang out to see the surprise at the beginning. For those young folks, i.e. people not as close to death as me, the subject of an episode of Life would be surprised that they were the subject. So seeing Karloff's reaction is priceless. I could grab these off of Veoh, but unfortunately those aren't viewable by everybody, and this is a globally read website. So. Just for the record. We're going with two classics--first the familiar face of The Shat in "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" (remade quite well in the feature film version of the series, of course, with John Lithgow): Direct link for the feedreaders. I'd like to point out that all of these episodes are available on the Twilight Zone: Complete Definitive Edition. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Categorized as: TV
