Released by: Universal My Advice: Own it if you're a fan; rent if you need to catch up. ![]() Law & Order is arguably one of the very best-loved series to grace the small screen. It's spawned a number of spinoffs and has logged so many screen hours that you literally can't turn on a television and not smack into an episode of some flavor of the franchise somewhere. This, the flagship show, as always, deals with a half and half approach. The first half you get the police trying to unravel a crime and then the D.A. office takes up the second half of the show to prosecute. Sound formulaic? It is. But the good news is that the acting, the writing and the pace make up for anything you might feel shaky about for the setup. Categorized as: Reviews and TV

05.28.05 by Widge @ 4:50 am Film: Series Created by Glen A. Larson Features:
Released by: Universal. My Advice: If you're a fan, then buy it. And we're back. It's the further adventures of the series that showed Glen Larson really understood what young males wanted in the 80s. Well, the second thing they really wanted. They wanted a badass black car (voiced by Daniels) that could do all kinds of whacked out crap and was smart enough that they themselves wouldn't have to be really be smart. They could just look cool, like Michael Knight (Hasselhoff), and drive up on a semi while it was in motion, and you know, fight crime and stuff. Categorized as: Reviews and TV

05.16.05 by Widge @ 10:34 pm Film: Series Created by Stephen J. Cannell & Frank Lupo Features:
Released by: Universal. My Advice: If you're a fan, then buy it. There's only so much you can say about this show. Granted, I covered a lot of ground in my review of the first season, but I'll try and sum up here. Basically, four elite asskicking soldiers went to prison for a crime they didn't commit. They're elite, but they somehow manage to miss 99% of their targets while firing weapons. Anyway. So now they're living life on the run and underground, basically helping out the helpless and fighting for those who can't fight for themselves. The Magnificent Four, I guess you would call them. 05.08.05 by ScottC @ 2:05 am Film: Directed by Nick McKinney and Dave Hamilton Released by: Paramount/Comedy Central Home Video. My Advice: Rent it. Most tourists, when exploring a city, flock to the museums, monuments, and mansions. After these close about five o'clock, most tourists are satisfied to go back to the hotel. Few bother to experience the nightlife and all the strangeness a city hides during the day. For those strong enough to forgo sleep, there is entertainment, oddities, and wonders fueled by alcohol, cigarette smoke, and the very darkness itself. For those who aren't, there is Dave Attell and Insomniac. Categorized as: Reviews and TV
