Kolchak: Tales of the Night Stalker #2 from Moonstone. Dave Ulanski (Writer); Chris Marrinan (Penciller); Keith Williams (Inker); Dawn Groszewski, Ken Wolak (Colorists); Bill Halliar (Letterer). Carl Kolchak is back--and things are finally...finally starting to go his way. In fact, he's beginning to get so successful that things might backfire on him--and somebody who agrees appears to be trying to get a message to him. It's fairly clear what's happening fairly early on, but the satanic overlord's in the details, so to speak, and Ulanski makes sure that learning the why and wherefore of what's going on is even more fun than what's happening. The tie-in to the previous issue and what seemed to be a throwaway line is also a nice touch. Marrinan's pencils do a good job of keeping everything moving, especially in an issue where there isn't an enormous amount of action. This series appears to be maturing quite well, and for people who need some more supernatural comics, it's definitely worth checking out.
