Dead@17 #3 from Viper. Josh Howard (Writer/Penciller/Inker/Colorist); Greg Gatlin (Letterer). Out of the frying pan etc. etc. as the zombie ambush from last issue ends with Nara taken captive. This gives the opportunity for the villain to lay out part of the backstory, but still--what the hell is going on? Which side are we supposed to be rooting for, other than the previously mentioned undead schoolgirl who kicks zombie ass? This continues to be the best horror comic I've seen in some time and so far my only bitch is that it's a mini-series. More, please. Howard is spinning a fascinating tale that I'd like to see more of and the artwork is just this wild manga-that's-not style. Truly unique. Unlike some books that think throwing around some black spectral types and paranormal events is all it takes to make horror, this puppy delivers.
