DreamCon 2004 - Day 2, Part 2

Saturday, June 12: The Adventure Continues

Well, considering the blast we had doing the Gonzo Film Festival last year at DragonCon, the DreamCon Powers That Be asked if we could put something together for this con. So a four hour "on a stick" version was born, thanks to the genius of Ken and his video editing prowess. During each bathroom break, the strong of bladder have a chance to win lots of great stuff. That's why all the pictures were taken then, because, you know, otherwise the room was dark.

How important is it to some people that they win a Simpsons bust from Sideshow Collectibles? Important enough to get up and do the Hokey Pokey along with Tom Waits, that's how important.

An audience member pulls a knife on Widge when Ken steps up to help...no, just kidding. We're all trying to get the childproof box open so I can show this guy what he won: one of the Sideshow Collectibles Lord of the Rings medallions.

"See? There is something in there!"

This fine gentleman models the SCTV boxed set he won, courtesy of Shout Factory.

"Sweet! I can hear the ocean!"

Another winner of a kickass Halo action figure from Joyride Studios. And the guy sitting next to her, who looks like a student of Unidenitified Madman's.

Widge readies the giveaway of a Freaks and Geeks boxed set, also courtesy of Shout Factory.

ScottC gets in on the trivia question asking fun.

Widge prepares to give his "undead schoolgirl" speech in order to get all the zombie nerds psyched about those copies of Viper Comics' Dead@17 he's holding.

"BEHOLD! I am the WINNER of the PUNKY BREWSTER set from Shout Factory! I am like unto a GOD!"

Widge explains where Kaiju gets their "real meat" collectibles from.

Next it was time for the "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"-test. Best reenactment of the scene won a prize. Our three contestants:

The winner...#2:

He got a Halo figure as well, from Joyride Studios, among other niftiness.

Either we're boring as hell, or this dude couldn't wait to dive into that copy of Dead@17 he won. We're going to assume the latter.

Another set of the Martin Song of Ice and Fire audiobooks from Random House Audio. Widge won't rest until you've all been exposed to it.

And...the Spectacular ends. And we survived. Well, we lost a couple of attendees, but we hid the bodies really, really well.

The final day is here!
