Written by: Dan Fogelman & Chris Williams My Advice: Don't miss it. Kids or no. Bolt (voiced by Travolta) is Rin Tin Tin and Lassie meets a cybernetic Swiss army knife. He's The Six Million Dollar Pooch. Found in a pet rescue place by his person, Penny (voiced by Cyrus), he was altered by Penny's father (voiced by Ronn Moss) to be the ultimate in canine protection. He's indestructible. He's super fast. He has a Super BarkTM. And he also has no idea that any of this is a television program, staged so that he is the most convincing animal actor in history. Trouble is, because he's not in on the joke, he thinks that by breaking out of the studio and making a break for it, he's trying to save Penny. Now he has to find his way home--and the only difference between this and Homeward Bound is Bolt is a bit...unprepared for the outside world. Categorized as: Movies and Reviews

11.17.08 by Widge @ 3:54 am ![]() It's hard not to post Moebius artwork. Just because I love his stuff. But when you couple that with an array of designs he did for the unrealized movie version of Dune that pre-dated the David Lynch version--the mad one in which Salvador Dali played the emperor and Pink Floyd provided the score. And, you know, they killed it because it was going to turn into a fourteen-hour version that was positively mad. Regardless, here's some of the designs that Moebius (The Airtight Garage) did. If you want to read more about the versions that didn't make it, Dune Behind the Scenes' entire Unseen Dune section is pretty damn sweet. Categorized as: Movies

11.15.08 by Siege @ 1:58 pm Written by: Paul Haggis, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, based on the character created by Ian Fleming Review: I've heard complaints from loyalists of the original bond movies that they miss all the outlandish gadgetry of the earlier films. I was one of many who were pleased by the new direction they took by taking the character back to the literary form, and everyone else seems to like it as well. I'm convinced you can't have both, so I'm glad they made the right decision. Time: SPLODE!!!! ![]() Categorized as: Movies and Reviews

10.31.08 by Widge @ 7:00 pm Yes, I know this was also last year's pick. But it is Night of the Living Dead after all. And not a cheap remake substitute. The real thing. And it's Halloween. And this is where the film belongs. Direct link for the feedreaders. Thanks again everyone. It's been more fun and less stress than I would have imagined. Will there be a Part III next year? Mayhap... Categorized as: Movies
