32 Days of Halloween IX, Day 2: Alice Cooper & Faust!

Faust (1926)

Welcome to Day 2. For today’s selections, I was going to go with Alice Cooper‘s 1978 appearance on The Muppet Show. Specifically his performance (with his own band of Muppets, The Vile Bunch) of “Welcome to My Nightmare.” However, Mr. Cooper has provided a commentary of sorts on his appearance, so we have to go with that. Be warned, he doesn’t say a whole lot, but what he does say is pretty much gold.

Music Monday: The Beatles Cover of the Century & More…

William Fitzsimmons: Gold in the Shadow

More music picks for your Monday. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music. Just note: any prices we quote are accurate as of when this post goes up.

We kick off with an utterly amazing meeting of musical minds, recorded at the New Year’s party at the Mala Restaurant on Maui. That alliteration was entirely unintentional, I assure you. What you are about to watch is not a dream, not an alternate universe: it is Alice Cooper, Steven Tyler and Weird Al Yankovic taking the stage to cover The Beatles‘ “Come Together.” And can I just point out that Weird Al is the only one who doesn’t appear to need a lyrics sheet. This video is ridiculous and awesome.

Your Weekend Justice #107: Where Kittens Come From

It’s Weekend Justice: the Internet’s #1 audio trainwreck. It’s the podcast that infuses everything you hold dear with alcohol, sex and terrible pop culture references. It’s not for the faint of heart. Or for people with hearts. This podcast was engineered–some might say over-engineered–by experts to escort you from the work week in the most chaotic manner possible. Please note: this podcast is profane, definitely oversexed and definitely overwrought. It is wrong and unsafe. You have been warned.

Your Monday Morning Mental Sorbet: Soupy Sales vs. Alice Cooper

Soupy Sales

When we can find something appropriate, we like to post a little bit of WTFery to start off your week. Because let’s face it, the work week is going to make about as much sense as a lot of the stuff you find here.

The sound’s a little off, but I don’t think it would be more coherent if it were properly synched. Without further ado, a bit from The Soupy Sales Show from 1979:

32 Days of Halloween, Movie Night No. 26: Frankenstein Double Feature

Lady Frankenstein

Sorry for the late post, but we had people coming to work on the Technocave’s attached compound. So. No rest for the wicked. So let’s get wicked!

Tonight, we’ve got a double feature for you…first up, it’s Peter Cushing once more, this time in Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, the fifth Frankenstein flick in that particular series.

Update: That has been taken down and the only other version has a screwed-up aspect ratio. Falling back on the trailer. If somebody finds the full film again, let me know.
