The Week in Links

Lego Helicarrier

'How does Fury even see these?' 'His head swivels.'

  • Well, we learned this week that the Lego version of the Helicarrier will be released in March–with 2996 pieces and running about $350. I have a feeling this one is going to get snapped up like nobody’s business–eBay auctions are already underway for $1000. This is basically this generation’s G.I. Joe Aircraft Carrier. For parents, though, a warning: be prepared for your kids to re-enact the helicarriers from Winter Soldier. I’m just telling you now. Brickset has a number of pics. No pre-order link yet.
  • Rox appeared in an article and interview regarding her life and unclassified adventures–plus as much information about Spazhouse as we’ve seen since the VH1 Behind the Music special from 1997.

Your Weekend Justice #224: Coffee and the Euphemism Motherlode

    Dance the Kung Fu

It’s Weekend Justice: the Internet’s #1 audio trainwreck, the podcast that dares to completely sully the name of its own damn website. Go figure.

Note: Please excuse random and brief noises. Not sure where they came from. Maybe it’s all in my head.

Your Weekend Justice #223: Who Says You Can’t Buy Anything For $2 Anymore?

    Christopher Walken

It’s Weekend Justice: the Internet’s #1 audio trainwreck, the podcast that prefers to hang out on Chap Roulette, where we sit around and smoke pipes and drink tea. Occasionally, Rox wears a pith helmet.

Note: Please excuse random and brief noises. Not sure where they came from. Maybe it’s all in my head.

32 Days of Halloween Part VIII, Day 3: Aliens in the Mind!

    Aliens in the Mind

So, yes, normally I refrain from sending you off-site to get access to things. However, this is just too good. From 1977, it’s the radio drama Aliens in the Mind, which starred Vincent Price and Peter Cushing and was scribed by Robert (“I Wrote a Slew of Classic Dr. Who”) Holmes. In fact, according to this site, it was originally meant to be a Who script. You could have Cushing and Price taking turns reading the backs of breakfast cereal boxes and it would be worthwhile, so when you pit them against telepathic mutants, it’s a no-brainer.

And while we’re on the subject of Peter Cushing–a very easy subject to be on–Rox sent us this excellent interview with Cushing on a show called The Human Factor. Rox figures it might be one of his last interviews, so that puts it 1992-1994 timeframe. And following that, just because we can, we have a 1979 interview with Vincent Price on The Merv Griffin Show.
